Woohoo.

Smiley Xtra 3.1
I have confirmation from the creator of Smiley Xtra that the release is due this weekend! Woohoo. Go check out the new features over at The Smile Project home page. The info I have recieved is that late Saturday or Sunday is the best bet. Let's get submitting those smilies! Personally, this is one of the most useful and unique tools for any web browser!

The Rest
Ok. Tonight is the second part of the Channel 4 series "Anatomy For Beginners". Last night was, to be honest just a little creepy. But, tonight is respiration and breathing. Should be good.

I watched the video of the release of the Macintosh computer. I must say thanks to god for the progress in computer design over the last 20 years because I wouldn't be seen dead with a computer like that nowadays. But, remember, it's what's inside that counts. Back then it was a marvel and the unveiling was certainly better on the eye than the advert for Windows 1.0 featuring that bold guy who apparently likes developers... a little.

I'm currently working on a website/CMS for a client and a really quite struggling because I haven't typed a line of code for 1 or 2 months. Argh. Anyway, it's going well and I certainly haven't lost my touch - neither do I use boxes everywhere.

I've created a list of things that I'll purchase on Thursday from the numerous comments and e-mails that were left from the last post. Thanks to all who left feedback.

1100+
Woohoo! I have passed the big 1k mark on my blog. Thanks to those people who pass my addy on to others. Also, buy some shares in my blog!!!, and you'll get free oxygen from Tesco's! Anyway, thanks to those who read it.

Mysterious Ways

Smiley Xtra 3.1
I don't know if it's just me or is the launch of Smiley Xtra 3.1 just around the corner - or this weekend in fact. There have been a few subtle hints that say this is a fact. The creator's MSN screenname said this:

Also, the website has suspended smiley submission: "Smiley submission has been suspended temporarily so the database can be reorganised for Smiley Xtra 3.1's launch."

Is this pointing towards the 3.1 launch? I really hope so. Good luck on the launch day, James, whenever it is. Smiley Project Home Page.

The Rest
As I said in a previous post, tonight is the start of Channel 4's 4-part series 'Anatomy For Beginners'. I will strain myself to watch it as I am interested in this sort of stuff. I hope it doesn't get too many complaints.

Also, if any of you are registered with Blogshares, I wouldn't mind you buying some shares in my blog and/or doing the same with my good friend Khlo's blog over at http://cow.neondragon.net. Many thanks.

Anatomy For Beginners

Just a note about a 4-part series on Channel 4 starting tomorrow: Anatomy for Beginners. It's crontroversial, real and starts tomorrow at 11:05pm. A scandalous german anatimist and an english scientist disect the human body infront of a live audience and the TV viewers.

I'm certianly going to watch this - even if it means having a 2 black holes under my eyes.

Choices

Hello. I was just wondering whether any of my readers could leave some suggestion for what to buy with £270. Any comments would be apreciated. Maybe options about gaming consoles - which is the best? Should I leave the funds to get the handheld gaming systems coming out in March onwards?

Any suggestions would be greatful. Even some that I wouldn't have thought of would be great. Just leave a comment and/or a link. Or you can email me: here.

Many thanks.

Cryptoreadoebaydotitanophilia

You're probably wondering what the title is all about. It sums up the my thoughts since the last post; which was a very very long time ago. Sorry about the delay, I've been quite busy, tired and have done a lot of travelling. Lately, my interest has been concentrating on 3 things: a book, a game and a project.

I've been reading a book called 'The DaVinci Code' by Dan Brown (Website) and found it the 2nd best book i've ever read. With The Da Vinci Code, Dan Brown masterfully concocts an intelligent and lucid thriller that marries the gusto of an international murder mystery with a collection of fascinating esoterica culled from 2,000 years of Western history. A murder in the silent after-hours halls of the Louvre museum reveals a sinister plot to uncover a secret that has been protected by a clandestine society since the days of Christ. The victim is a high-ranking agent of this ancient society who, in the moments before his death, manages to leave gruesome clues at the scene that only his granddaughter, noted cryptographer Sophie Neveu, and Robert Langdon, a famed symbologist, can untangle. You can have a look at reviews and/or buy the book here . The book was so thrilling and kept me wanting more that I collectively lost 10hours of sleep over the 4/5 days it took me to read it. I can't wait for the long-awaited sequel that the author, Dan Brown, is currently working on.

The game that has been consuming most of my attention over the past 2 weeks or so is ETF - a mod for the popular Enemy Territory game. The website, http://www.etfgame.com was launched and you can download the mod from there. It's really promising and a nice alternative to Enemy Territory. Although it still needs a lot of work, patches and upgrades it still will provide you with a nice gaming experience. I'd reccomend downloading it.

The Smile Project (here), created and maintained by James Baker, is about to add a whole box of new features. I use his Firefox/Mozilla extension in about every post and reccomend it to those of you who just want an extensive range of 1-click-away smilies. Download it at the Mozilla Update website: https://addons.update.mozilla.org/extensions/moreinfo.php?id=375.

In addition to the happening on this world, another world has just been opened up. Titan - the only moon in our solar system with an atmosphere was visited by the European Space Agency's probe Huygen. It's released some amazing pictures but also had it's fair share of problems. 2 experiments on board the probe did not send any data back because one of the data-sending channels was not turned on. One project, the dopler-wind experiment only used the channel that was not turned on and the other project, measuring wind speeds sent no data back because of human error - the experiment was not sent the command to turn on. You can view the official page here and there is also the sound of the probe's decent available for your listening pleasure.

If you wanted a Playstation 2 but found it was sold out, never fear - more stocks are here! That's right, the second shipment of the new thin PS2 has arrived and they'll probably go as fast as the last. Get yours now. I reccomend either GAME or eBay. Happy PS2ing.

Supersize Me (Again)

Over the weekend, I watched the film/documentory about this American guy who went across America and only ate McDonalds menu items for 30 days. It was facinating, disgusting, funny and sometimes frieghtening. I'd reccomend watching this.

Head on over to Cow's Blog to find out more about another, controversial film.

Woohooo!

This week as been pretty great for me. It's been interesting, expensive, enjoyable and plain boring. I decided to see how much money I had - if you didn't know it was my birthday a few days ago (more later) - and the total came to a staggering £246.50. This is from Christmas, my birthday, eBay and my paper-round earnings. I was quite amazed. So, I spent £20 on some interesting books that were recommended to me. If you want to buy me something off my wishlist then you can visit it here.

It was my birthday on Tuesday 11th January (C&T: Wednesday 11th January) and I was transported in a stretched limo to a restaurant that didn't even serve burgers! The cheek! Anyway, brought a friend along and it was a great evening. I didn't mind the money and presents either .

I'm getting a bit frustrated lately, I have spent nearly 1.5 years now learning PHP and SQL from books, a genius mate (*cough* bighead *cough*) and some free tutorials yet I have not typed a single line of code for roughly 1 month. If anyone has a job for me, don't hesitate to let me know.

Have you seen the latest products from Apple?
Free Image Hosting at www.ImageShack.us   Free Image Hosting at www.ImageShack.us

I just wish that the PC could be incorporated into the Apple Mac design. The PC is a dated design and the only way to get a different shape/design is to mod or splash out on other people to do it for you. We need Apple and Microsoft to work togeth... Sorry. Must have been dreaming.

Anyway, the new MacMini. A great solution to home computing. Here is a page with the specs: http://www.apple.com/uk/macmini/. Starting at just £339 for the basic machine, it's a rarity for you to be able to get a Mac for under £400. Well worth it for the new Mac user, In my opinion. I love the design of Macs, but not the OS and software for it, and I like the OS and software for the PC. Just need to put them together (and another lawsuit).

The new iPod Shuffle seems like a gimmick and, to me, seems like Apple already had the release of this product all planned. It seems to me they brought out the more expensive product first so people would all buy it. Now, they bring out (about) the same product minus the games, schedule, clock and display and sell it at £69. I know I'm probably not got all the facts above, but can't be arsed to do that. Anyway. New news.

I'm slowly building up my music video collection courtesy of LaunchCast™ (Yahoo!™). I now have about 60 music videos compared to my 140 song collection. Not very big but seeing as my music download program does not like my ISP, it's the best I can do.

Is This It?

None of us do not know about the South-East Asia disaster. When we saw that, we (over here in the United Kingdom) did what we could to help by donating more than £110 million pounds towards the disaster appeal. Other the past 6 months, there has been an alarming amount of natural distasters around the world, some publicised more than others.

Just today, Carlisle had a major flood which knocked out the entire electricity supply to the town. The area is now in complete darkness. In 2004, the monsterous flood of Boscastle in North Cornwall shocked the UK. Is this the beginning of the end?

A while back, people said the Bible predicted the end of the world as 2006 - can it be right? I knew a psychic who predicted 'armageddon' in 1993 - could she be right? Personally, I keep up to affiars like this and take notice of as much detail as I can.

Later last year, the film 'The Day After Tomorrow' was a reminder to us all of what could happen and probably will. We are all destroying our planet on which we were concieved, born and raised. As Eminem said "Why would I want to destroy something I helped build." This is exactly what we're doing. If we turned England, America, China, Russia and France into an LEDC we'd probably add a few hundred thousand years onto the life of the planet and maybe a few thousand onto the lives of man.

Even in 2003, one place in England hit 38.3C (100F) and the chance of this happening again is triple. But, after sun comes rain. After a really hot heatwave, the energy generated from the heatwave hangs around and is released as thunder. This intern can damage property and even kill people. Not to mention the forest fires that may start in the heatwave or start via a thunder strike.

It seems intelligence is not an asset, but a silent killer. Then again, could intelligence overcome the power of nature's dark side...

Round-Up

Hello again. It's been a pretty good start to the weekend - and a pretty good end. Just a quick round-up on the happening. Played a new game today and heres a screenshot I'm sure you'll apreciate:

Hehe. Nasty huh. Not much on the net front for me. NASA's SWIFT project has had its first pictures and data - of which I'm sure they'll get more of - and my blog has bumped up it's sales on BlogShares.

School + eBay = Meh

So, school has started and made the start to the new year, well, depressing - why? Because it started on a blooming Tuesday. Today is Wednesday the 6th January (or for you C&T'ers it's Friday the 6th January.

Over the past week, I have made my presense on eBay, collecting a total net amount (official and unofficial eBay auctions) of £39.14. Not bad if i must say - this plus the addition of the £80 I got over Christmas (read previous post). I used to use the Amazon auctions but decided to see what the rif-raf was all about. I saw a Hilary Duff Album Collection going for £0.01 with FREE postage and packing!

Anyway, I've been getting to grips with the Sunbird Calendar add-on to Thunderbird and found it really useful, yet time-consuming at the same time. Meh. Anyway, off to sell a pot of dust with a P&P of £5.

New program on Channel 4. Very very interesting anf funny. Maybe I'll get more than 2 hours sleep tonight and forget what I saw on the internet 4 days ago...

Welcome to 2005

Welcome to the year 2005. What will this new year bring us? What does this year have in store? For me, it means the end of year 10 and the start of year 11 and exams. It means starting to think about colledge (after the 6th Form) and it means a new term. It also means new challenges, new problems and new solutions. And, most of all, a new start - a clean slate. Use it wisely.

It's the 2nd day of the new year and it's a Sunday. For all you C&T Calender supporters it is Monday the 2nd January. I don't know about you but it seems that the last year has gone at light speed. It has gone so quick. Maybe it's my attitude to school - I just think of it as that thing between weekends and when I reach Wednesday it's like the week's already over.

I hope you all had a good holiday - I certianly did (nice party Aaron ) - and I hope you have a great new year, unlike some people in South-East Asia who have had a rude awakening to the new year.

I've been using eBay for a little while now but I've started to sell quite a few things. Head on over there to see what I'm selling and maybe pick up a bargain! Over Christmas I made £80 and I've got my birthday to come yet in 8 days! I'm gunna be a hundred-aire! Lol. Anyway.
