Back To School - The Twilight Zone

Ok, so today I went back to school and we had twilight. These are my thoughts.

1) Not well organised.
2) Not worth it.
3) Not well advertised.
4) Not good enough.

T Minus 15 Hours and Counting

I'm depressed because I did not complete what what I wanted to do during this summer holiday. One of those things was to stay awake for 30 hours straight - my excuse it that my eye lids were overtaken by evil daemons than made them shut to project a Golden Girls marathon. O, the pain, the golden pain. Meh, some good news though...

According to Slashdot.org, a new PC has been shipped by Alienware that clocks up 4GHz! God was reading my last post, it has to be that. The new Area-51 ALX, introduced on Friday, uses overclocking, or the practice of pushing a processor past its factory speed setting, to elevate a standard Intel Pentium 4 chip to 4GHz. Because overclocking a processor can cause it to overheat, the desktop also includes a special liquid-cooling system devised by Alienware. Meh, that's cheered me up a bit.

Also, It's nice to see some countries getting down and dirty with porn (no pun intended) issues. BBC News reports that China has implemented laws and punishments as dire as life imprisonment to people involved with online porn. It's nice to see governments doing things like this. I'm not saying I want the same over here though... ;)

Last night I downloaded the first 3 episodes of Stargate Atlantis because I couldn't wait another 10-15 days to watch it on the Sci-Fi Channel (UK). I have watched the first 8 episodes and they are so great. The plots and happenings are so interesting though I do miss the old faces of the SG-1 Team. Let's hope the next series of Stargate SG-1 do go ahead. I will definitely be supporting them at the next convention.

As pointed out to me by my good friend Khlo, Hilary Duff has released her new single 'Fly' and it's actually quite good. I'd recommend getting a pair of extra strength ear-muffs just incase but if you want you can listen here: http://www.hilaryduff.com and just click on 'Launch Music Player' on the left. I have also dug up the video of Hilary Duff's and her sister's music video which I have placed on my server if you which to take the time to download it. You can get it here: *here*

That's my two cents as I cant be bothered to do the new features, you're probably not interested anyway. I'm just going to sharpen my knife and prepare my wrist...

Sadness, Fear & Shite TV - Life

I'm pleased to announce the 100th visitor to my Blog! Welcome whoever you were! Now, down to business.

So, today I was looking around the web for some Laptops and took an especially rare interest in Apple's Laptops. I'm interested in purchasing a Laptop soon and after being hit by reasons why the Mac's OS is so good, I decided to take a look. I was quite dissapointed to notice the GHz value of the Apple Laptops were not that high, 1.5GHz at the most. I prefer a higher value in the region of 2.2GHz to the top consumer value which, at the moment and to my knowledge is about 3.4GHz. After the release of the Apple Mac G5, revealed in Paris earlier this week, I hope they can transfer the power of the 64-bit G5 processor to a laptop. I'll keep a look out...

After about 40 minuites mining in my garage, I got to the bench at the back. I found some safe stuff there including an old phone. Well, when I say old I mean: 'broken in half and a few wires missing'. Anyway, got my soldering kit out and pulled some spare wire from all the junk. So, after a few burns and enough toxic smoke to make a druggie higher than my colesterol, I plugged it in to the mains and the phone socket and it worked. Woo-Hey! Anyway - that's my achievement for the day.

Quote of the Day:
"I have noticed that the people who are late are often so much jollier than the people who have to wait for them." --> This applies to my school life nearly all the time. Bloody twits.

Word of the Day:
GARTH
(garth) noun

A small yard surrounded by a cloister. Also known as cloister garth.

[From Middle English, from Old Norse (garthr) yard. Ultimately from Indo-European root gher- (to enclose or grasp) that is also the ancestor of such words as court, orchard, kindergarten, French jardin (garden), choir, courteous, Hindi gherna (to surround), yard, and horticulture.]

T Minus 72 Hours and Counting

OK, so seeing as I have absolutely nothing to do at this moment but refresh forum pages every 40 seconds, I think I'll update my blog. Woo-hey.

Firstly, there has been a lot of unneeded hype about a supposed extra-terrestrial signal found using software used on home computers (SETI@home). I thought it was a good time to bring up the fact I am involved in this on-going world wide project and have been for about 2 years now. I'd reccomend becomming part of it and see if you can help the search for extra-terrestrial life or signs that it exists.

Next, the title of this post sums up what fills my mind all day. The amount of time left until I have to go back to school. How exciting. Starting year 10 is daunting yet you feel safe in the fact that you're not going to get your heaed shoved down the toilets. Meh - life goes on and you ain't got a damn choice.

Thirdly, I introduce 1 of 2 new features: 'Quote of the Day'. I give you a famous and/or well-said quote and tell you why it's helpful to your life. Todays quote is:

"Last night I dreamed I ate a ten-pound marshmallow, and when I woke up the pillow was gone." - Now? We can all relate to this, can't we! Just remember, boys, not to dream of sausages! And girls, just don't dream at all.

And finally, the second new feature is: 'Word of the Day'. I give you my word of the day and its definition. Today's word is:

feckless
(adjective) [FEK·lis]

1. generally incompetent and ineffectual: "We accidentally mixed up our passports before we got to customs, but the feckless official took no notice and sent us on our way."
2. not fit to assume responsibility adverb form: fecklessly
noun form: fecklessness

All Eyes On Russia

As I am writing this post, BBC1 and ITV1 have interupted the normal programming for about 2-3 hours so far to bring us up-to-date news on the hostage situation in Beslan, South Russia. I personally, think the people who took the hostages are cowards. They storm in on a school like maniacs with bombs strapped to their waists. Ooo, how original. I think though that the Russian troops have done a good job (unlike last time when they killed hostages in the theatre incident by using anaesthetic gas to gain entry). I just hope the children and adults are OK though reports I've heard say that there may be dead hostages. Now it's just a matter of finding and kicking the hell out of the captors. Then, I think the parents of the dead should be able to choose the type of death the captors are to face. That's justice.

Now, let all that anger go and let calmess and normality fill you and me. Next week, the Genesis probe will make it's grand holywood entrance back to earth after spending 2 and a half years collecting atoms from and around the sun. Hopefully, we'll confirm what the Sun is made of and how it works - and it'll extend our knowledge even further. But, what's really amazing is that the probe is going to be caught by a net... yes a net... in mid-air over a desert in Utah. You can view more information here but i can't wait.

As you can see I've changes my blog design once again but I do like this one so I doubt I'll change it for the next couple months. Also, a quick note about this site (http://klat.sf.net) as it has been updated.

And, one last note, the webcams of myself and two of my mates can be found at the location below. I'd reccomend a look...you never know what we get up to. O_o.

Mozilla Website

I've been waiting ages for the new Mozilla.org website to be published, after having to beta test it for a few weeks beforehand. I have to say that it is great but it's not all up yet. I discovered the Mozilla Europe site which is very nice and the site on the Mozilla network which I prefer. Anyway here are the links:

http://www.mozilla.org - The main (US) Mozilla webby
http://www.mozilla-europe.org/en/ - The English Mozilla webby
http://mozilla-japan.org - I nice partnership webby (if you know Japanese)

I also report that I have had over 20 downloads of my 6-page essay on Townies. I didn't know my work was so popular! Anyway, I hope to start and finish one on disabled hedgehogs later this month.

I, today, released my official (yes, make it sound important) webcam page and you can view me working here: http://sbc.no-ip.com (but only when my computer's on...shhh..)

Thats it for today, folks. Huhuhuhuhuh.

Oh, TOTD (tip of the day) - don't drink coke out of a glass that's still got fairy liquid in it. Not good. Not good at all.

Townie Essay Released

OK, so 12 days ago I started what I wanted to be a short description of my thoughts on Townies. Well, yesturday morning I finished the 6th page of it. Seeing as it's that long, I call it an essay. The essay is all about my opinions and what I've seen relating to the Townies taking over our towns and cities.

You can download the essay here during the time my PC is on:
