So, what’s been happening? Here’s some links and stories:
- The New Horizons space probe lifted off on it’s 10 year journey to pluto!
- Scientists have developed a way of temporary putting someone in suspended animation!
- A whale has managed to find it’s way from the North Sea into the Thames! (But died at 1900UTC 21/01/06)
- A long webpage was produced… and continues to grow!
- Stargate SG-1 : The Alliance video game was scrapped - but may return!
- Search giant Google stands against the US Government over user data!
- The TV program LOST has gone into hiatus until the spring!
- Good friend Ramble has had his birthday and is now blonde!
- I came top of the year in my English Language GCSE result - oh yeah!
- McDonalds have sent out another booklet of over £20 worth of savings!
- Surprisingly, Microsoft donated $25,000 to Creative Commons - wow!
- IE7 Beta 2 has been released and a wave of ‘new’ reviews have been posted!
- The web-based comic ‘Ctrl+Alt+Del‘ is getting better, though some sad news about a community member did come to light.
- Two updates for PHP, 4.4.2 and 5.1.2 were released!
- New, simple, JavaScript library released; aimed at new learners!
- Channel 4 announced Bodyshocks is to return on the 30th January 2006! (Earlier on More4)
- St. Birinus School has been awarded Language College status!
- Race day for Formula Schools has been announced and booked! Better get the car and website done!
- Google has released a pack of useful free and sometimes open-source software!
- Apple have begun the rollout of new Intel powered Apple computers!
- A new Mousebreaker.com game has been released!
- Desperate Housewives has started again on Channel 4, filling in for LOST!
- You can now map your surname; where it’s most popular and where it’s not!
- First Page 2006 has been released and is free! Maybe the school will jump on this?
- The United Arab Emirates is building the worlds first totally underwater hotel complex!
- Some nice IBM cartoons made to advertise and promote Linux, shown!
- The MillionDollarHomepage can’t even afford to keep the site running! Soon, it may be sued!
- Mozilla Thunderbird 1.5 has been released to the masses!
- An innotive idea of sticky notes for the internet is in beta. Give it a try!
- A new and extensive extension for Firefox, Firebug is a developers dream!
- Microsoft used Apple G5 computers to showcase their next-generation games!
- I believe it’ll be a very moving, yet true rendition of what happened on Flight 93. Worth a look.
